Troy Rafferty, one of the top mass tort and major personal injury trial lawyers in Florida and the United States is a shareholder at Levin, Papantonio in Pensacola. Rafferty has been named one of the Florida Super Lawyers and has been included in The Best Lawyers in America.
Rafferty, a board certified civil trial lawyer, is active in the Florida Justice Association where he has served on the executive committee and on the board of directors.
Mr. Rafferty has been appointed to the plaintiffs’ executive committees in many of the country's largest multi-district pharmaceutical and mass tort cases, including cases in the Northern District of Ohio, the Southern District of New York, the Northern District of Florida, the District of New Jersey and the Western District of Louisiana.
Rafferty was also appointed by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana to serve on the plaintiffs' steering committee in the national Vioxx litigation which resulted in a 4.7 billion national settlement. In 2001, Mr. Rafferty and his law partner obtained a $40 million jury verdict in Texas on behalf of a woman who sufferred damages from the diabetes drug Rezulin.
Rafferty can often be found lecturing at seminars for trial lawyers throughout Florida and the United States; he is a generous philanthropist and awards scholarships in the Pensacola area for high school athletes.
